Trimming in Japan

FLKLR surfers Flora Christin and Dean Permana fly to Japan next week with their noble MarMar longboards to compete in the REnextop Asian Surfing Tour.

Flo, the only female longboarder from Indonesia on the tour, is taking her 9’2” MarMar for this leg of the competition.

Dean, from Java’s heavenly Batu Karas waves, is taking his 9’6” MarMar with a few modifications.

“I’m really happy to be going on my first trip with the FLKLR family, I will travel with my friend Flora who is like a sister. I hope we can keep on travelling the world surfing!”

The REnextop Asian Surfing Tour consists of four events, the first one was held in FLKLR’s home territory Canggu, Bali in June.

Flora came fourth in the Bali round and is pumped for the next comp. In Bali, Dean surfed against one of his surfing idols, twice world longboarding champ Harley Ingleby.

“In the last round in Bali I learned a lot about competitive surfing and I had a chance to compete against a world champion which is inspiring me to do better in the next comp,” said Dean.

We hope these two beauties enjoy dancing their way across Japanese waves, and of course, may they surf long, long and prosper.

There are three more events in the Asian Surfing Tour this year, in Japan, Taiwan, and China. We’ll keep you updated on Dean and Flo’s journey.
